Preliminary permits have been filed for a four-story commercial infill at 459 West MacArthur Boulevard in Mosswood, Oakland. The proposal would expand the facilities of the PranaMind Institute on the site from one to four floors. PranaMind Institute is responsible for the application.

The 64-foot tall structure will yield 15,700 square feet across the structure, including a roughly 2,640 square foot eight-car garage. Additional parking will be provided for three bicycles. Pranamind Institute is a community mental health clinic. The expanded facilities will include examination rooms, waiting areas, laboratories, and administrative office space.
Oakland-based blink!LAB Architecture is responsible for the design. The complex will be clad with a metal grid greenscreen system over the plaster facade panels and windows, providing privacy for the interior spaces overlooking MacArthur. The ground floor will be dedicated to the small garage, with administrative offices on floor two, counseling space on the third floor, and a media/conference room on the fourth floor. The rooftop space will feature an open-air terrace with outdoor furniture.

An Oakland-based family trust is listed as the property owner, operating as KASOCA LLC.
The minuscule 0.05-acre property is located along West MacArthur Boulevard between Telegraph Avenue and Webster Street. The site is close to Mosswood Park and is separated from the medical institution-dominated Pill Hill neighborhood by the I-580 freeway overpass. Future visitors will be on foot just eight minutes from the MacArthur BART Station.
