New construction is expected for a three-story residential infill at 948 Capp Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The project will replace an alley-facing garage with a three-floor house along Lilac Street, half a block from the 24th Street Mission BART Station. A Texas-based individual is listed as the property owner.

Steve Bodner Architects is responsible for the application and design. The drafted plans include a mix of board-formed concrete and wood siding. In keeping with the neighborhood’s vibrant street art culture, mural paintings will be incorporated on the Lilac Street elevation. The new house will have three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with an elevator to ensure accessibility to the first and second floors for the expected tenant.

The narrow property is located between Capp and Lilac Street. The future resident will be half a block from the 24th Street Mission BART Station and a full block from the nearest grocery store.

Public records show that Michael Yuan purchased the property in 2023 for $1.3 million. Construction is expected to cost around a million dollars, not including all development costs. The timeline for work has yet to be established.
