A new Architectural Review Meeting was scheduled for tomorrow, a development planned at 762 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto. The project proposes the demolition of three existing commercial buildings and the construction of a new seven-story residential building on the site. Representatives from developer Acclaim Companies will be backing the proposal.
Since the new project is 100% residential, it would typically require zoning considerations to move from the current commercial property type. The meeting will discuss this consideration in relation to the property’s adherence to the “Builders Remedy” method that may loosen some of its restrictions.
If approved, Studio T-Square’s design for the property would reach around 352,600 total square feet, including 12,820 square feet of amenities and a 252-car garage. The main living complex would have 198 apartments, of which the developer has committed to subsidizing 26 units to be affordable. The below-market-rate units are part of the developer’s effort to streamline the approval process and increase residential capacity with the Builder’s Remedy provision, Senate Bill 330, and the State Density Bonus program.

The building’s facade will combine composite metal, plaster, stone tiles, perforated metal, and wood-like screens. Meanwhile, h-shaped floor plates will wrap around a podium-top terrace, providing residents with a pool deck courtyard area. A terrace will also be available on the seventh floor, giving residents commanding views of the nearby mountain range.

The site is located in a moderately walkable area along San Antonio Road between Charleston Road and Middlefield Road, along the city’s border with Mountain View. The San Antonio Caltrain station will be a seven-minute bicycle ride for residents or an 18-minute bus.
The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, August 7th, at 8:30 am. More details regarding the meeting can be found here.
