Marin County has approved plans for a five-story senior living facility at 100 Thomas Place in Strawberry, a census-designated place. The project aims to deliver housing for independent living and assisted residential care. Spirit Residential Group LLC is responsible for the application, filing on behalf of the property owner, Nijjar Living Trust.

The 63-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 178,460 square feet, including 146,000 square feet of housing and 27,800 square feet for parking. The basement garage will accommodate 72 cars and no bicycles. The residential component will include 71 independent living units and 35 assisted living/memory care suites. The memory care unit will feature a central kitchen and common areas, including a foyer, activity rooms, theaters, a salon, a library, and other amenity spaces.
The ground floor will include the dining room, entertainment space, and offices. The second floor will feature the assisted living unit. The fifth floor will include a central clubhouse room, with an elevated walkway connected to a hillside pool deck and bocce court. The hillside space will even include a trolley track for residents and visitors to travel slightly higher up the hill to an open lawn.

SDT Architects is responsible for the design. Plans show the complex will be an extended I-shaped floor plan with a facade clad with metal panels, stucco, and wood-look siding. The main entrance will include a covered porte-cochère.
The 3.7-acre property is a hillside property at the edge of North Knoll Road and Thomas Drive. The property overlooks the partial cloverleaf interchange of U.S. Highway 101 and Tiburon Boulevard.

Construction permits have yet to be filed. The cost and timeline for construction have yet to be established.
