The complex will produce ten structures across the 2.5-acre property, yielding around 145,500 square feet. The 51 units will each feature four bedrooms and a private two-car garage. The site will include 11 units of affordable housing.

SDG Architecture is responsible for the design. Illustrations show a complex with a Spanish Revival style, wrapping the three-story buildings in stucco, Spanish-style roof tiles, and wrought-iron detailing. R3 Studios is the landscape architect, which includes landscaped front decks and paseos between buildings.

The 2.53-acre property is located along Linda Vista Drive near the Linda Vista Park and Monta Vista High School. Demolition will be required for four existing single-family homes.

The application utilized Senate Bill 330 and the State Density Bonus Law to streamline the approval process. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.

  1. Will never understand the appeal of these townhouse designs. You sacrifice 10% of land to garage lanes, which are ugly and unusable. You further sacrifice the ground floor to cars, so it’s a flight of stairs just to get in. And then you have another flight of stairs to get to the third floor.

Alternatively, you could just build a normal condo building with a central garage. You could fit more units and have much better floor-plans. You could fit the same amount of cars and save 10% of the floorplan from being garage lanes.

This is like the worst of all worlds. Wasteful land use for cars, still have shared walls, only vertical floor plans..

I assume this is forced on the developers by zoning. No sane person would chose to live in this over a normal condo
