Preliminary permits have been filed for a townhouse infill at 110 Glenwood Avenue in Atherton, San Mateo County. The application is using Senate Bill 79 to streamline the approval process for 30 apartments close to the Menlo Park Caltrain Station. Cupertino-based AlphaX RE Capital is responsible for the development.

SDG Architects is responsible for the design. The development is expected to add 30 units across five three-story structures. Of the 30 units, six will be deed-restricted as affordable. Illustrations show each structure will fit two levels of housing above a ground-floor garage. Outdoor terraces will be positioned on the second floor and rooftop.
The application invokes Senate Bill 79, which went into effect in July and upzones transit corridors across the State to increase potential residential capacity. The roughly one-acre property is located at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Laurel Street, close to the city border with Menlo Park and Menlo Park Caltrain Station.
