Updated plans have been filed for an affordable residential development at 2800 Florin Road in Meadowview, Sacramento. The newest application shows an increase from the previous iteration circa 2020, with the overall unit count rising from 150 to 200. Christian Church Homes is listed as responsible for the application as the property owner.
The preliminary application requests that the project be eligible for the streamlined approval process as a Ministerial Infill Housing. Plans describe two structures containing a total of 200 income-restricted dwelling units.
SmithGroup previously drafted plans for a 100-unit apartment complex and 50 townhome-style residences in three structures. Given the limited information in the recent application, the new iteration will likely feature two multi-family buildings with approximately 100 units each.

The undeveloped 4.6-acre property is located at the corner of Florin Road and 29th Street, close to the Florin light-rail station and the weekly Farmers’ Market. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared. The project team has not yet replied to a request for comment from YIMBY.
