Development permits have been filed for a new residential development at 942 Pine Street in the Village Bottoms neighborhood of West Oakland. The proposal is to build on a vacant lot four single-family townhomes. The Oakland-based Duong Family Investment LLC is the project developer.
The 45-foot structure will yield 7,360 square feet, with units ranging from 1,790 to 1,910 square feet in size. Each residence will offer three bedrooms, a single-car garage, a private patio, a deck, and a rooftop terrace. The condominiums will be priced at market rate.
Collaborative Design Studio is the project architect. The design offers a collaged mix of fiber cement lap siding, wood-like siding, metal roofing, and painted stucco accents. CDS’ approach to the facade reflects city design guidelines, with gable roof features making a contemporary reimagination of the neighborhood’s vernacular.
The property is located in the far corner of West Oakland, thirteen minutes from the West Oakland BART station on foot. The neighborhood is expecting to see a massive redesign with the approved West Oakland Station Transit Development plan.
New building permits have not been filed yet, and a schedule for construction and costs has not been released.
