The new condo reference application has renewed attention on the multi-structure residential development planned around 853 Jamestown Avenue in Bayview, San Francisco. The project aims to build 122 new residential condominiums across a strip of land spanning 6.87 acres straddling Bayview Park. San Francisco-based real estate private equity firm, Strada Investment Group, is responsible for the development.
The 20-building development will create 160,430 square feet of new residential area across three-story attached townhomes. Each structure will contain between four and ten units, each with a private garage. Two-thirds of the houses will offer a rooftop terrace overlooking shared paseos. On top of the public open space, many units will include private patios and decks. Unit sizes range from 1,100 to 1,550 square feet to include two to three bedrooms. Parking will be included on-site for 180 vehicles.
Of the 122 residences, 11 will be priced as affordable housing. Planning applications indicate the units will be sold for ownership, not sold as rentals.
Hunt Hale Jones Architects will be responsible for the architecture, with Einwillerkuehl in charge of the landscape architecture. The houses will be covered with stucco and wood siding, According to the planning documents, the “planting design will showcase local native plants that extend and connect to the existing native landscape.”
The land, currently occupied by surface parking, sold in the summer of 2018 for $6.6 million. An estimated construction timeline is not yet known, and construction is expected to cost over $25 million.
