Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new project at 2270 McKinnon Avenue in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a building offering self-storage for the public. The project calls for the demolition of the existing single-story accessory structure.
Jackson Liles Architecture is managing the design concepts and construction.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 35,000 square feet. The new self-storage will cover an area of 119,881 square feet and offer storage options totaling an area of 111,073 square feet. The proposed facade will rise to a height of sixty-three feet, and storage spaces will be distributed throughout all four stories. A parking space of 8,363 square feet with a capacity of four bicycles and eight vehicles is also proposed.
The total cost of construction is $19.5 million. The City Planning Commission will be reviewing the application materials. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
The property site is located in an industrial area, neighboring other business and industrial setups.
