Proposal for a mixed-use structure at 4311 MacArthur Boulevard in Laurel, Oakland moves forward. Grading permits have been filed to evaluate and condition earth-moving activity in accordance with the County Grading Ordinance.

AMG & Associates is the project developer. Urban Planning Partners Inc is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

The property site is a vacant lot measuring an area of 40,860 square feet. The new development will bring a five-story affordable housing complex with 193 units. Retail space spanning an area of 2,470 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. Parking space with a capacity of eight vehicles will be allotted on the site. The property will also offer an open space of 1,500 square feet for its residents.

The building facade will rise to a height of 78 feet.

The residences will be available for households earning between 50 %110% area’s median income. The developer filed for Senate Bill 35 (SB35) in 2017 to expedite approval. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.

The project site is located between Laurel and Redwood Heights.
