Preliminary Permits Filed For Next Phases of 1979 Mission Street, San Francisco

Preliminary permits have been filed for the second and third phases of affordable housing at 1979 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The application was submitted soon after the developers announced the imminent construction of the first phase of housing for the storied site overlooking the 16th Street BART Station. Mission Economic Development Agency and Mission Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.

Construction Expected in 2026 For La Maravilla, Mission District

Plans have been approved for La Maravilla, a nine-story permanent supportive housing complex at 1979 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. Construction is now set to start early next year on the first of three phases on the large parcel overlooking the 16th Street BART Station. Mission Economic Development Agency and Mission Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.

Funding Secured for Affordable Housing at 1515 South Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco

The State of California has helped secure new funds for 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The Department of Housing and Community Development has awarded $37.9 million towards a 168-unit affordable housing proposal for the vacated site. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.

Final EIR Review for SFMTA Potrero Yard Redevelopment

Plans are moving forward to build hundreds of affordable homes inside a new bus yard in San Francisco’s Mission District. This Thursday, the city’s Planning Commission is scheduled to review the Final Environmental Impact Report about the SFMTA Potrero Yards Modernization proposal. The project will replace the existing bus yard and build up to 513 units, with a refined project variant floated to build just 103 units. SFMTA and Plenary Group are joint developers.
