Construction work is finishing up on Google’s Charleston East, a canopy-covered bespoke office building designed by two international architecture firms, Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studios. The 111-foot tall project is located at 2000 North Shoreline Boulevard, by the Mountain View waterfront and across from the Shoreline Amphitheatre and the Googleplex. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is the project owner.
The fourth tallest skyscraper in the city planned or built is 181 Fremont Street, a residential tower overlooking the Transbay Transit Center in SoMa, San Francisco. Completed in 2017, it is the tallest mixed-use tower in the Bay Area standing 810 feet above street level. Heller Manus Architects is responsible for the design.
Construction has topped out, with facade installation starting at 1265 Borregas Avenue in Sunnyvale’s Moffett Park area. The project will open as the first mass timber office building in Google’s expansive Sunnyvale office campus. Michael Green Architecture is responsible for the design.
Renderings have been revealed for a new Foster + Partners-designed office campus coming to Kifer Road in Sunnyvale. The project would produce a unified company campus for Sunnyvale-based Intuitive Surgical, a medical equipment company while replacing its existing office footprint. The new development would span 1.2 million square feet of office area with a capacity for 3,500 employees at full build-out.
