New preliminary permits have been filed for the proposed 22-story tower at 2700 Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The filing comes nearly two months after the first planning application for the 22-story iteration was submitted to the city’s planning department and nearly nine months after the sensational 50-story skyscraper was withdrawn. Housing America Partner and San Francisco Housing Development Corporation are jointly responsible for the project.

At the start of this year, preliminary details surfaced to potentially replace the park-side gas station with housing at 1200 La Playa Street in San Francisco‘s Sunset District. Permits filed earlier this month show the owners have shifted gears, with a project review meeting requested to construct a new home for the convenience store.

Construction has topped out for a five-story apartment complex at 3945 Judah Street in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood. The mid-density project replaced an automotive shop with twenty apartments within walking distance of Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. Brendan Quinlan of Quinlan Construction is responsible for the project.

The application doubles the potential redevelopment’s height compared with 2018-era plans. 3S San Francisco is responsible for the application on behalf of the South City-based property owner, Double AA Corporation.

The site is next to Ocean Beach, the iconic Murphy Windmill by Golden Gate Park’s southwest corner, and a future senior housing development. The event will be held tonight, November 8th, between 6-8PM at 2601 40th Avenue in San Francisco. Speaking with YIMBY, a representative for the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation shared that the proposal is “very early in the development process,” with more community meeting opportunities expected to occur early next year. TNDC and Self-Help for the Elderly are jointly responsible for the plan.
