The announcement is an important milestone for the developer to construct over five hundred homes, open space, and preserved historic buildings across the four acres. Members of the public will have until late February to provide comment.

The project proposal includes the conversion of an existing motel to a supportive housing community with onsite services. Demolition work is required on the site which will be processed under separate permits. Danco Communities is the project applicant. Coliseum Motel LLC is the property owner. DG Group Architects is responsible for the designs.
New renderings have been published for the six-story affordable housing proposal at 6955 Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland. The proposal will create a mixed-use complex with a replacement venue for the Black Cultural Zone Hub and a market hall. Y.A. Studio is the project architect.
Development permits have been approved for the proposed six-story affordable housing infill at 3419 San Pablo Avenue in West Oakland, Alameda County. The proposal, led by East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, will replace a surface parking lot and small structures next to the California Hotel with 60 new homes. Residents will be given access to a community space and residential services.
