The application shows a rough estimate of how a new residential tower could fit within the city’s urban core, creating an estimated 425 apartments above commercial space. The application was filed by Village Glen Oakland 2, LLC, linked to R2 Building.
Demolition permits were filed seeking the development of a mixed-use project at 6501 Shattuck Avenue in North Oakland. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-story mixed-use building offering residential and retail spaces. The project calls for the demolition of the existing vertical walls of a supply building. Bruder, LLC is the property owner. Moshe Dinar of Dinar & Associates is responsible for the design.

The project proposal includes the demotion of an existing non-historic warehouse in order to make way for a parking lot. The building was constructed in 1922. Crews have topped out with exterior work underway for the six-story plan at 230-240 West MacArthur Boulevard at the southern tip of Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, Alameda County. The development, titled One Piedmont, will add 57 new apartments in the busy mixed-use neighborhood. BayRock Multifamily is the project owner and developer.
Crews have finished the concrete foundation pour at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland for the future 19-story mass timber tower. The project has been designed and developed by Oakland-based oWOW and will eventually become the tallest mass timber building on the West Coast and the second tallest in the country. Once complete, the development will create 222 new homes above commercial and retail space.
