Permits For Affordable Housing at Mandela Station, West Oakland

Zoning worksheet permits have been filed for the affordable housing component of the Mandela Station masterplan in West Oakland, Alameda County. The filing comes a few weeks after the city’s Planning Commission reviewed plans for the project, revealing new detailed renderings by AO. Keystone Development Group is responsible for the application on behalf of the joint venture, Mandela Station Affordable LP.

Meeting Wednesday For Affordable Housing in West Oakland BART Redevelopment

The Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans this Wednesday for the affordable housing component within the West Oakland BART redevelopment project. The developers are seeking revisions to reduce the floor count while retaining the same number of units on Parcel T3. Assuming the plans are approved, construction is expected to start as early as next year. Mandela Station Affordable LP is the joint venture responsible for the proposal.

A new affordable housing project was inaugurated this week at 1666 7th Street in West Oakland, Alameda County. The project proposal included the construction of a new five-story affordable housing complex offering residential units and commercial space. Oakland & the World Enterprises is the project sponsor, led by the former Black Panther Party chairwoman Elaine Brown. MWA Architects is responsible for the design.
