New building permits have been filed to construct a data center at 1111 Comstock Street in Santa Clara, northwest of the San Jose International Airport. The development would produce a four-story, 121,170 square foot facility with capacity for 10 megawatts of information technology. Prune Data Centers is responsible for the application.
Integra Mission Critical is responsible for the design. The building will rise 87 feet high to the parapet, while a metal roof screen brings the height to 98 feet above street level. 24 parking spaces will be provided on-site. Architectural features will be sparse, with the chief visual being a green glass-clad edge at the south-east edge.
The address is in a largely commercial neighborhood with nondescript office structures, more data centers, and industrial sites. This includes the Donald Von Raesfeld Power Plant around the corner.
The address is occupied by a single-story commercial structure in its existing condition.Construction will cost an estimated 12 months. Jim Khosh Revocable Living Trust is the current property owner.
