New development permits have been filed for a large residential development at 820 West MacArthur Boulevard in the Longfellow neighborhood of Oakland. The project proposal includes merging three lots into one and constructing 92 residential condominiums, ground floor amenity spaces, and private open spaces.

Riaz Capital is the applicant and developer involved with the project. 820 MacArthur LLC is the property owner. Levy Design Partners is managing the design concept and construction.

The total area of the lot is 22,679 square feet. The proposed residential floor area is 72,750 square feet. The building facade will rise to a height of sixty feet. The five-story residential building will also offer 40 new bicycle parking spaces. 2,680 square feet of public open space is also provided.

The project proposes a mix of studio apartments, 23 two-bedroom units, three-bedroom units, four-bedroom units. Out of these, 69 will be offered as efficiency units and 27 units will be offered as affordable units.

The project is in the groundbreaking stage and the site work can soon be expected. The building is a few blocks from the Interstate 580 freeway. The project is located in a walk and bike-friendly neighborhood and is well-serviced by AC transit lines 18, 33, 57, 72, 88, and 805.
