New building permits have been filed for a six-story commercial building at 1200 Memorex Drive, located in an industrial corner of Santa Clara. The building will be used as a data center. Skybox Development LLC is responsible for the application, with Pelio & Associates listed as the property owner.
The project will yield a combined 564,860 square feet. The four-story data center will contain 472,920 square feet and connect to a six-story building with 87,520 square feet for ancillary offices and storage use.
The data center will have a capacity of 60 megawatts to power its information technology, operating for private clients. The building requires a backup power generator for its three stories of production data hall space.
Dubbed the SVY03, 1200 Memorex Drive is one of three data centers affiliated with Stack Infrastructure in Silicon Valley, though it is larger than both SVY01 and 02 combined. The center will also be Skybox Data Center’s first project in the valley.
The building’s estimated completion date and construction costs have not been released.
