A new affordable housing project might be developed at 3531 Del Paso Road in Natomas, Sacramento. The project proposal includes the development of an apartment complex featuring 120 affordable units into six buildings.
An undeveloped portion of the Westlake Village shopping center could become a new affordable apartment complex. The project site spans three parcels totaling 4.35 acres. Named Ascent Apartments, the apartment complex will bring 120 apartments into five three-story apartment buildings. Half of the units would be less than 750 square feet and the other half between 751 and 1,999 square feet in size. The sixth building will be a one-story, 3,362 square-foot community building which would house a clubhouse, laundry room, patio and pool, fitness center, and a business center.
A project application has been submitted seeking site plan and design review. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
The project site is located on the northwest corner of Del Paso and El Centro roads, behind the strip mall.

We have enough low income housing in Natomas
We also have a significantly larger amount of unhoused residents in Natomas than there were 10 years ago.
Agreed Diane. Killing the neighborhood and community.
This is outrageous. This is a commercial site. We don’t need anymore low income housing
How is this outrageous?? Where do you suppose residents go that can’t afford an apartment for $2000 a month?
How is affordable housing killing the neighborhood and community? Not everyone can afford a one bedroom for over 2 grand..
