Plans have been submitted for a new 14.6-acre residential development along Oakley Road in Antioch, Contra Costa County. The filing aims to replace the agricultural land with 71 new homes. Walnut Creek-based Brightsky Residential, a Resmark company, is the project sponsor.

An exact address has not been provided, though two county assessor’s parcel numbers are listed; 051-190-028 and 051-190-034. CBG is listed as the project’s engineer. The planning application submitted to the County planning department provides no other details about the filing. Brightsky Residential has yet to reply to a request for comment.

Resmark is a residential investment company founded in 1995. The firm oversees equity capital for institutional or private investors to fund suburban and multifamily development across California and major Sun Belt cities.

The property is located at the intersection of Oakley Road between Phillips Lane and the recently-built Goldcrest development by Discovery Homes. The project is close to several residential projects, including the 394-unit affordable apartment housing infill by AMCAL on 18th Street. Residents will be a 15-minute bike ride from the Antioch BART Station, though the distance could be dramatically shortened if a pedestrian pathway was created over the train tracks connecting Oakley Road to the BART parking lot.

Booooo. We don’t need more suburban single family homes.

  2. Many people chose to live out here for its agriculture the waterways NOT JOBS and homes on 1 -2 acres were our first chosen home and it was said that was the future here but you sure didnt follow thru and the crime has come out this way with all these crammed neighborhoods your building and these homes needed bodies so you chose section 8 who’s making the money here whose causing the crime

    • What is your problem! Obviously have never had a medical crisis or other life altering event or you’d realize all humans deserve homes. The problem is people like you who lake any empathy for the other souls on this planet. I bet you hate animals too.

    • Obviously you nor a loved one has struggled to find a home. You’ve never had a medical crisis or other life altering event occur and demolish your savings? All humans deserve homes. People like you who lack any empathy for the other souls on this planet are so upsetting.
