A preliminary application has been filed for 2851 Park Avenue in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The plan aims to create 25 apartments across from a grocery store near the city’s university campus. The project developer and architect are not specified in the sparse filing.
The plan will create 25 apartments, of which three will be designated as affordable for low-income households. The ground-level space will include five commercial live-work spaces, and a covered parking garage wrapped around the back will have a capacity for 31 cars on-site.
The property is 15 minutes away from the Santa Clara Caltrain Station on a path that runs through the Santa Clara University campus. The Caltrain stop is planned to be connected to BART as the final stop in the Silicon Valley rail extension. The Westfield Valley Fair and Santana Row in San Jose are less than twenty minutes by bicycle or VTA bus.
