New permits have been filed for a four-story hotel at 4580 Duckhorn Drive in Natomas, Sacramento. The plan will add to a cluster of hotels to serve the nearby Sacramento International Airport. The site is close by car but nearly inaccessible to the airport via public transit. The project is expected to become a Home2 Suites by Hilton.
HRGA is the project architect. Illustrations show a boxy structure with white banding and an articulated facade. Facade materials include cement plaster, tiles, and exposed concrete. Most of the two-acre parcel will feature surface parking with a smattering of landscaping.
The 54-foot tall structure will yield around 75,230 square feet to create 132 hotel rooms catered toward the Home2 Suites extended-stay suite brand. Parking will be included for 129 cars in the surrounding surface parking lot. Guest amenities will include a pool deck, fitness center, barbeques, and fire pits.
The application expects construction to cost around $12.8 million, a figure not including all development costs. The estimated timeline for construction has not been established.

What’s really needed is an onsite airport hotel.
