Tonight, the Cupertino Planning Commission will review several staff recommendations, including items regarding a Development Permit and an Architectural and Site Approval permit for 21267 Stevens Creek Boulevard. The site, developed by Related California has already been approved for the Westport Development Project, but revised plans would increase the size of Building 1 from 138 units to 151 units. Architects Steinberg Hart have also submitted a new ground floor plan with space allocation for the building’s amenities and retail.

Building 1 is the larger of two apartment buildings included in the development, which once fully completed will also include 88 townhomes/rowhomes designed by KT Urban. The two apartment buildings are allocated for senior housing, with Building 1’s revised unit count including 136 senior residential units and 35 non-residential memory care units. If accepted, the full site’s revised total number of units would equal 272.

The additional 13 units will come at the expense of 13,600 square feet of retail in the building. Without as much retail, the revised site plan also eliminates 191 parking spaces originally allocated. The square footage previously occupied by the spaces will be converted to additional green space.

The meeting is scheduled to start tonight, Tuesday, April 22nd, starting at 6:45 PM. For more information about how to attend and participate, visit the meeting agenda here.

  1. Good! This is a crucial intersection, that should have had more housing 30 years ago. Better late than never.

  2. In Google Maps it looks like the rest of the complex is already under construction or maybe even complete, and only Building 1 is left to be built. Nice that it’s getting a unit bump.
