Plans have been filed for an affordable senior housing project at 705 Veterans Boulevard in Redwood City, San Mateo County. The five-story proposal is expected to produce 76 apartments on a corner lot just a couple of blocks away from the newly-built County office building. Eden Housing is the project developer.

The 57-foot-tall structure is expected to contain around 72,400 square feet, including 59,150 square feet of housing and 13,250 square feet for the podium garage. Parking will be provided for 38 cars and 43 bicycles. Unit sizes will vary with 35 studios, 40 one-bedrooms, and one two-bedroom unit designated for the on-site manager.
Affordability levels will be offered for a range of households, including 10 extremely low-income units, 25 very low-income units, and 40 low-income units. Residential amenities will include a community room and fitness center overlooking the second-level open-air courtyard.

BAR Architects & Interiors is responsible for the design. Facade materials are not listed, though illustrations show the structure will be wrapped in brick veneer, with darker vertical metal panels lining the top floor.
The half-acre parcel is located at the corner of Veterans Boulevard and Brewster Avenue. The site is just outside of Downtown Redwood City. Future residents will be just 11 minutes away from the Caltrain Station on foot.
