New building permits have been filed for a modular accessory dwelling unit for the backyard of 160 Chilton Avenue in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco. The application looks to contribute to the neighborhood’s density without displacing existing residents. Rancho Cordova-based builder Nonna Homes is responsible for the application.

The accessory dwelling unit will provide a secondary residential dwelling to the existing lot, currently occupied by a single-family building. Keystone Construction Group is responsible for the design. One rendering provides a mock-up view of the ADU, a two-story structure with a shallow gabled roof on top of a concrete slab. Landscaping will be added around the foundation.

Public records show the 1911-built house last sold in 2011 for $315,000. The existing structure will remain during construction. Future residents will be just a few blocks away from the Glen Park BART Station or the Glen Canyon Park.
