Development review permits have been filed for a potential three-building apartment complex at 3590 Airport Drive in North Natomas, Sacramento. The proposal could add 70 units at the corner of the Tanzanite Community Park.

The three structures will produce a combined floor area of 74,400 square feet. The project will add 70 apartments, including four studios, 36 one-bedrooms, and 30 two-bedroom units. Each unit will get a private balcony space, alongside a communal open plaza along Tanzanite Road.

Tahoe Design & Engineering is overseeing the project’s pretty underwhelming design. Illustrations show that the three boxy buildings will be wrapped in a mix of board-and-batten siding and cement plaster. The three structures will face Airport Road and Tanzanite Road, obscuring the rear-lot 65-car surface parking lot.

3590 Airport Road is currently occupied by a single-story duplex built in 1953. The 1.86-acre property is located at the corner of Airport Road and Tanzanite Road within the Natomas Crossing suburban sprawl.

The property owners are listed as two Roseville-based individuals. Public records show the property was last sold earlier this year for $750,000. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.
