New minor modifications have been proposed to the original plan for housing at 1354-1356 York Street in San Francisco. The project was previously approved in December of 2023, but has yet to be completed. Property developers, Atlas Property Group, are using the time to submit new permits modifying the project’s interior and rear exterior.
The planned number of units is to remain at six, divided into four-story buildings. However, the interior layout of the three residential floors is likely to be revised, and the ground floor utility room is to be expanded. Modifications will be made to the rear exterior plan, adding a new external deck and staircase. Lastly, the previously shared roof space is to be divided into private areas designated for specific units.
RG Architecture is responsible for the design. Illustrations show a sleek contemporary facade with gable roofing and boxy bay windows overlooking York Street. Exterior materials will include board and batten siding, white stucco, and fiber cement siding. The two 40-foot buildings will rise to four floors. Unit sizes will vary, with four four-bedrooms and two three-bedrooms, each around 1,420 square feet.
The site is located in the southern area of San Francisco’s Mission District, with good access to public transportation. Residents will be 15 minutes away from the 24th Street BART Station on foot. Additionally, parking will be included for three bicycles and three cars in both garages.
