Updated plans have been published for the small residential infill at 430 Green Street in North Beach, San Francisco. The project will replace a 1906-built house with two new apartments. RDK Consulting is responsible for the design, and Reuben Law is responsible for the application on behalf of the individual property owner.

The four-story building will include a one-car garage connected to a workshop area for the larger unit. The second floor will be occupied by a two-bedroom apartment with a rear-facing deck. The four-bedroom apartment will occupy a portion of the first floor, along with all of the third and fourth floors
The 39-foot-tall structure is expected to yield 5,270 square feet across both units and the ground-floor garage. Illustrations show a familiar vernacular infill, featuring two bay windows protruding from the stucco-clad facade.

According to the 2021 historic resource evaluation, the property is “not individually eligible for listing in the California Register.” The structure would have been one of many rebuilt in the neighborhood after the 1906 earthquake and fire. As per the historic resource evaluation written by Tim Kelly Consulting, “in spite of the devsataion it suffered in the fire, North Beach was rebuilt perhaps more quickly than any other part of town. The area’s quick reconstruction was due in large part to generous loans that were offered by local Italian banks.”
The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not been shared.
