Formal permits have been filed for a residential conversion of two commercial buildings at 1335-1365 Columbus Avenue near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. The project is looking to add four apartments above retail at the corner of Columbus Avenue and Beach Street. Maven Commercial is responsible for the application.

The project will include a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom apartment. The site spans 9,090 square feet, including roughly 5,700 square feet for housing and 2,150 square feet across two retail shops. Parking will not be included for bicycles or cars.

DNM Architecture is responsible for the design. The plan set shows that the exterior of the converted structures will remain mostly unchanged, except for the windows and the ground floor of 1365 Columbus Avenue.

Future residents will find themselves at the northern end of Columbus Avenue, a block away from Aquatic Cove and the touristy Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood.

The application will be streamlined with Senate Bill 423. Maven Properties is listed as the property owner, filing through GB&T at 468 Green Street. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.
