Permits have been filed for a residential expansion of the building at 52 Landers Street in the Mission District, San Francisco. The development replaces an existing three-unit building with four new condominiums. James Shissler and Hwang Steve currently own the structure.

Anderson Schwartz had been enlisted for a previous application for residential expansion, although it is confirmed that they would be involved again. The structure dates back to 1902, with a wood type construction frame.

The site is between 14th and 15th Street, with Market Street just around the corner of 14th. The area is rich in retail and shopping, including a large brand grocery store directly across Market Street. Lightrail and buses are readily available within a two-block radius. The downtown financial district can be reached in less than twenty minutes using public transit.

This sort of permit demonstrates how high demand for housing in the area compensates when development is lagging behind when an understated 118-year old building is expected to be converted to provide four units.

The building last sold in 2008 for $1.35 million.
