Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a residential project proposed at 6661 Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento. The project proposal includes the development of multi-family housing affordable housing units. Previously, the property was proposed to be developed with student housing.
The project will bring 130 affordable housing units into a six-story building on a site composed of two parcels. The project site spans an area of 1.42 acres. The total residential built-up area will measure 107,500 square feet. Out of the total 30 units are less than 750 square feet and another 100 units are between 751-1,999 square feet. The units will span a total area of 88,000 sqaure feet.
This is an affordable housing project, but the applicant has requested the estimated fees to be calculated as if market rate. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
The site is located at the intersection of Folsom Boulevard and Elvas Avenue and currently houses three buildings proposed for demolition. The neighborhood is a walk and bike-friendly warm, charming area, which is perfect for students. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery, and convenience stores nearby.
