The Santa Clara Planning Commission is scheduled to review an extension of the approval for a hotel and entertainment space at 312 Brokaw Road in Santa Clara County. The planned development is located across from the rising Gateway Crossing development by Holland Partner Group. Mogul Capital is the project developer.
In a letter addressed to the Santa Clara Planning Commission, Mogul Capital CEO Brad Wagstaff explained that “the hospitality demand in Santa Clara and resulting Revenue Per Available Room is still approximately 20-25% below pre-pandemic numbers.” Wagstaff writes that the hospitality market is expected to recover in the region by the end of 2024. For the Santa Clara hotel, Wagstaff concludes by sharing they are “continuing to move forward with building permits, planning, and identifying a financing partner.”
Once built, 312 Brokaw Road will feature two hotel brands for different markets. Of the 396 guest rooms, 206 rooms will be under the Extended Stay brand, with 190 rooms for a limited services hotel brand. Parking will be included for 298 cars using space-efficient stackers. Jensen Architects is the project architect, clad with wood-look panels, cement, and stucco.
The development was approved in August of 2021. The San Jose Planning Commission is scheduled to start their virtual meeting today, October 25th, starting at 9 AM. For more information, visit the meeting agenda here.
