oWow has provided YIMBY the latest rendering for 1523 Harrison Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The developer has announced plans to increase the project scale, with nearly a hundred more apartments in a taller 25-story envelope. Construction is expected by 2024, likely after oWow finishes the 19-story tower at 1510 Webster Street.
Development permits have now been filed for the 20-story mass-timber proposal for 1523 Harrison Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project would be the tallest mass-timber tower in the State, with 269 homes directly across from 1510 Webster Street. Both projects are being developed and designed by oWow.
The same month that demolition work started for the state’s tallest mass timber tower, oWow revealed renderings for the second phase of construction on the same block. 1523 Harrison Street is set to be developed with an identically-tall timber tower. The proposal would replace a nearly half-acre surface parking lot with 269 homes in Downtown Oakland.
