Meeting Tomorrow For 470 West San Carlos Street, San Jose

The San Jose Planning Director’s Hearing is scheduled tomorrow morning to review the site development permits for the eight-story residential project at 470 West San Carlos Street just outside Downtown San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project could add 276 apartments and parking to a cleared parcel, formerly occupied by an auto shop and three single-family houses. Urban Catalyst is responsible for the application and had previously announced that construction was scheduled to start late last year.

Demolition Complete for Gifford Place Senior Living by Downtown West, San Jose

Crews have finished demolition at the 0.9-acre site ahead of construction at 470 West San Carlos Street. The property will soon be developed with a 167-unit assisted living facility in the Diridon Station Area Plan, by Google’s Downtown West masterplan in San Jose. Urban Catalyst is responsible for the project.

New building permits have been filed to prepare the property at 470 West San Carlos for construction in Downtown San Jose. The development was last covered by SFYIMBY ahead of project review by the San Jose Planning Commission. The developer, Urban Catalyst, is proposing a six-story assisted living facility consisting of 116 units.

470 West San Carlos Street Heads to San Jose Planning Commission

Urban Catalyst is bringing their plan for a 169-unit residential care facility at 470 West San Carlos Street in Downtown San Jose to the city’s planning commission later today. The six-story structure will span 185,000 square feet, offering nursing assistance, communal dining, lounge areas, library, salon, and open space. City staff is recommending that the council conditionally approve the project.
