Revised plans have surfaced for the El Paseo De Saratoga development in southwest San Jose. The latest iteration would result in fewer homes, slashes the apartments above the Whole Foods grocery store, and bring on a new architecture team. Sand Hill Property Company is responsible for the application.
El Paseo de Saratoga has been approved by the San Jose City Council. The project would bring new density to an area defined by suburban sprawl along Santa Clara County’s western edge. Constructions will replace a portion of a strip mall with nearly a thousand new homes, offices, and a new Whole Foods grocery store at 1312 El Paseo de Saratoga and 1777 Saratoga Avenue. Sand Hill Property is the project developer.
The El Paseo proposal by Sand Hill Property and KTGY in San Jose has received the MHN Gold Excellence Award for the ‘Best Unbuilt’ multi-home proposal of 2021. The development would replace a 10.7-acre portion of a sprawling strip mall complex with nearly a thousand new homes and new retail at 1777 Saratoga Avenue in West San Jose, adjacent to the suburb-dominated city of Saratoga.
A new mixed-use project has been proposed at El Paseo and 1777 Saratoga Avenue in San Jose.
