San Francisco’s newest rooftop restaurant will also be one of the largest rooftop bars in the city. Chotto Matte is opening later today at the recently completed 100 Stockton Street near Union Square. The building will also open the meeting and event space early next month by Convene. Construction is wrapping up on the adaptive reuse of 100 Stockton Street in San Francisco’s retail hub, Union Square. The former Macy’s men’s store has been reskinned with the design by Gensler. Now, just over a year after signing a rooftop restaurant, the team has secured 65,000 square feet for Convene, a hospitality start-up.
A top-level tenant has been secured for 100 Stockton Street, the newly redeveloped retail hub by San Francisco’s Union Square. Chotto Matte, an international Peruvian-Japanese Restaurant, will operate from the rooftop terrace by 2022. Morgan Stanley and Blatteis & Schnur are responsible for the development.
The 21st tallest tower in the Bay Area planned or built is Spear Tower in SoMa, San Francisco. Rising to a 564-foot pinnacle, Spear Tower is the taller of a two-towered complex, One Market Plaza. Rising across the Embarcadero, the development was completed in 1976, connecting the two new towers with the 11-story 1916-built Landmark Building on Market Street. Welton Becket Associates is the building architect.
Six months after construction topped out, crews have all but finished facade installation for the commercial redevelopment of 100 Stockton Street near San Francisco’s Union Square.
