February saw us finally cover the tech utopia in Solano County when the planners made their first substantial step towards realizing the project upon filing a ballot initiative. The developer would eventually withdraw the initiative after facing overwhelming disapproval.
Two developers have submitted permits to formalize a limited partnership for the affordable housing proposal at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The existing surface parking lot is owned by the Berkeley Unified School District. Once complete, the 110 affordable apartments will prioritize School District employees and familiars. Abode Communities and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates will be joint developers.
Development permits have been filed for the 20-story apartment tower at 2425 Durant Avenue in Berkeley’s Southside neighborhood. The application seeks to replace two low-slung residential structures with 117 apartments. Qian Wang of Collabhome is listed as the property owner through 2425 Durant Avenue LLC.
Preliminary permits have been resubmitted for the 17-story building at 550 O’Farrell Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. The pre-application aims to freeze local zoning regulation through Senate Bill 330, providing a secure and streamlined process for approval.
