The St. Regis Museum Tower rises 484 feet over Yerba Buena Gardens to be the 36th tallest tower in the Bay Area planned or built. The mixed-use building has added 260 hotel rooms and 102 residential units to the San Francisco housing market in SoMa, along with the Museum for the African Diaspora. Skidmore Owings & Merrill is responsible for the design.
The San Francisco Planning Commission is expected to approve HOME-SF authorization for a six-story mixed-use building with some affordable housing at 2800 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights planning neighborhood. The San Franciso-based Shamrock Real Estate Co. is the project owner.
A project review application has been submitted for a project at 67-69 Belcher Street in Duboce Triangle, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a new five-story building with off-street parking spaces. The existing two-story single-family dwelling will be demolished. The project is a density bonus residential project and requires density bonus waivers of the height limit and usable open space requirement.
The 37th tallest building in the Bay Area planned or built is 100 Pine Center at 100 Pine Street, the former headquarters for Continental Insurance in San Francisco’s Financial District. The building is tied with 45 Fremont Street with a rooftop height of 476 feet. The Bay Area design firm, Hertzka and Knowles, is responsible for the design.
The Target Corporation has requested a project review meeting to consider a new retail location in an existing mixed-use building at 1336 Post Street in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco. If built, the new Target would span 34,600 square feet, a significant footprint but is just a third of Target’s typical stores. Given the exploratory condition of the proposal, it is too early to speculate about the broader implications of the project review meeting request.
