A San Jose Planning Director’s Hearing is scheduled for this morning at 9:00 am. Among the agenda items is a request to approve a planned development permit for the 1325 Lick Avenue site. The permit would allow for the construction of a new multi-story apartment complex located near San Jose’s Tamien station. GR Tamien LLC is listed as the project’s owner.
The planned development at 1655 Berryessa Road in San Jose celebrated the commencement of phase one in the construction of a new neighborhood. The site for the project is a 13-acre, formerly industrial and logistics lot located a short walk from the Berryessa BART Station. The Facchino Family, who own the site, made the decision to redevelop it into more than 700 units of new transit-oriented housing.
New documents were posted for the Arbor Building, part of the site development at 255 West Julian Street in San Jose. The Downtown site was part of an original proposal to construct a 14-story office building with ground-floor retail space. However, in 2024, SF YIMBY reported on a shift in project plans to create an 18-story mixed-use building.
The Shirley Chisholm Village in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, celebrating the completion of a first-of-its-kind project for San Francisco. The 100% affordable units are designated as a community for educators working in San Francisco, with the goal of making housing more accessible within the city limits.
A new affordable housing project could bring 90 units to the Willow Glen area of San Jose. Developers recently purchased multiple parcels at 520 and 544 West Alma Avenue, including the closed-down Agave Sports Bar. Plans filed by Resources for Community Development include outlines for site demolition and the construct of a new affordable building.
