A proposal study session was held for reviewing a residential project at 1178 Sonora Court in Sunnyvale. The project proposal enlists the redevelopment of an industrial property site into an apartment complex. Plans call for the demolition of an existing structure and the construction of new apartment units.
MidPen Housing is the project applicant and owner. Studio T Square is managing the design concepts and construction.
The project site spans an area of 1.26 acres. The development will bring 177 apartment units designed in a seven-story building. The residential complex will feature two levels of an above-ground podium parking structure. The complex will offer 175 affordable units and two managers’ units. The residences are offered as a mix of 27% one-bedroom units, 25% two-bedroom units, 25% three-bedroom units, and five townhomes.
The existing industrial property proposed for demolition is a one-story industrial building that spans an area of 19,440 square feet. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
The property site is located within the Lawrence Station Area Plan (LSAP). The apartment complex will be well-connected to Lawrence Station and Kifer project.
