Commercial new building permits have been filed for a three-story affordable housing project at 3900 Broadway in Oak Park, Sacramento. The project will be a dedicated facility for senior housing. Related Companies, a prominent national firm, is the project developer.
The 32-foot tall structure will yield 35,520 square feet with units varying between studios and one-bedrooms. Parking is included for 23 cars, with four spaces on-site and the rest on a surface parking lot across 39th Street La Solidad Way Alley. Bicycle parking is not specified.
The ground floor includes a community room, lobby, and access to the outdoor courtyard. Stairs will connect the paved courtyard to a lawn and the community garden.
Mogavero Architects is responsible for the design. The building will be articulated with vertical massings, breaking apart the overall scale. Facade materials will include stucco, cement plaster, and fiber cement. Petaluma-based ReedGilliland Landscape Architects is the landscape architect, and Sacramento-based Cunningham Engineering Corporation is the civil engineer.
The property is a vacant lot. Residents will be nearby the American Legion High School, with the future Aggie Square development just fifteen minutes away by foot. The Broadway corridor includes two Bus lines leading commuters directly to Downtown Sacramento.
