New building permits have been filed for the construction of three new medical buildings at 2505 Samaritan Drive and 2512 Samaritan Court in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The proposal is part of a long-term plan to expand and modernize the Samaritan Medical Center campus, close to the Cambrian Park Plaza plan. Cilker Henderson Properties is the project developer.
The application comes over seven years since the Silicon Valley Business Journal first reported on it in the summer of 2015. Plans remain nearly identical, with a representative for Good Samaritan telling George Avalos of the Bay Area News Group that construction is expected to finish by 2029.
RBB Architects is responsible for the design. The development will create three six-story medical buildings and one seven-story parking structure. Around 116 trees will have to be removed for construction to proceed. Two buildings at 2505 Samaritan Drive will span 314,000 square feet, and 2512 Samaritan Court will yield 161,000 square feet. A parking garage will produce 1,500 new parking spaces for employees and visitors.
The Samaritan Medical Center spans 6.5 acres by the clover intersection of Route 17 and Route 85 near the city’s border with Los Gato and the Santa Cruz mountains.
