A recent property transaction and construction financing package have pushed ahead plans for the 173-unit affordable project in San Jose’s Stevens Creek Boulevard Urban Village. The plan is one component of a larger master plan at 4300 Stevens Creek Boulevard by Miramar Capital Group. Pacific West Builders will develop the affordable housing.
The transaction was posted in public documents by Santa Clara County and first reported by George Avalos for the Bay Area News Group. The $3.5 million sale will allow for the developer to follow through on the promise to build affordable housing as part of Miramar’s 580-unit Stevens Creek mixed-use master plan. The developer will now oversee the construction of 407 market-rate homes, a 250-key hotel, and roughly 10,000 square feet of retail.
Architects Orange is responsible for the design. Illustrations show a basic contemporary complex clad with flat panels of stucco or cement plaster. The color palette will include white, grey, and orange. Parking for cars and bicycles will be included on-site.
Avalos has also reported that Pacific West has secured a roughly $125 million construction package, including nearly $100 million from Citibank. The master plan received approval from the city in September of 2022. Modified plans removed the roughly 300,000 square feet of office space from prior iterations.
The property is located along Stevens Creek Boulevard in West San Jose, close to the intersection with Saratoga Avenue and north of I-280. Residents will be 20 minutes away from Santana Row via public transit or ten minutes via bicycle.
