The City of Belmont has published a notice of preparation for the environmental review of plans for 1301 Shoreway Road. Plans have been filed for two office structures and a garage close to Ralston and Highway 101. Los Altos-based real estate investment and operating company Four Corners Properties is the project developer.
The full build-out aims to create over half a million square feet of office space across the two structures. Building 1 will rise eight floors and 145 feet, and Building 2 will rise seven floors and 131 feet. The nine-story garage will yield 442,700 square feet, containing a capacity for 1,626 cars.
SWA is responsible for the design. The modern design will be wrapped with a curtain-wall glass skin. The latest design for the complex will have a mix of solid and glazed panels, aluminum, and concrete. The garage will have a permeable facade with aluminum fins and perforated metal.
Demolition will be required for an existing four-story office complex.
The seven-acre site is located along Shoreway Road near Belmont Creek and Highway 101. It is near several large offices within the Redwood Shores neighborhood, which has the Oracle campus, once the company’s global headquarters. At 200 Twin Dolphin Drive, construction is underway for a five-story life sciences complex developed by Trammell Crow Company.
The Notice of Preparation for a Draft Environmental Impact Review kicks off a public comment period that will end on July 26th. For more information about how to provide input, visit the city website here.
Recent documents from Four Corners Properties anticipate to have the project reviewed by the planning commission next year. Beyond that, the estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be established.
