Development permits have been submitted seeking the approval of a new residential project at 3442 Georgetown Place in Santa Clara. The project proposal includes the construction of a new two-story duplex residence. Plans call for the demolition of a an existing single-family residence on the site.

The scope of work includes the construction of a new two-story duplex residence. The existing single-family residence will be demolished under separate permits.

An SB 9 application has been filed. The project application requests an SB9 approval for lot split. It allows homeowners to create up to four homes on an existing parcel, in effect, eliminating single-family-only zoning.

The project construction cost is estimated at $706,400. A project application has been submitted, pending review and approval. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.

    This is a horrible code. SR9 also states that neighbors don’t have to be notified. Nice neighbor relations. Putting a duplex on a quiet street filled with single family dwellings will not only look terrible aesthetically but also will bring more cars. Also being a two story will look down into neighbors yards. The whole thing is sad!!!!!
