The South San Francisco Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans tomorrow evening for a three-story apartment complex at 227 Armour Avenue. The proposal would cover half of a small lot to add four units to a low-slung residential neighborhood. San Bruno-based Andrea Costanzo is responsible for the design.

The three-story structure has two units per floor on levels two and three. The ground floor will include the entryway, a two-car garage, a common area patio, and the utility room. On-site landscaping will add several bushes and small plants facing the Armour Avenue sidewalk. Stepstones will lead residents from the Avenue to the shared patio and back to the existing structure on-site.
Illustrations show the complex will feature vertical board and batten panels, stucco, oversized windows, and gabled roofing. Two balconies will overlook the front of the lot, and two balconies will be added near the rear of the structure.
The infill would cover over half of the narrow 0.18-acre parcel, leaving the three units inside a residential structure on the parcel facing 9th Lane occupied. Future residents would be just 18 minutes away from the Caltrain Station on foot. The property owners are listed as two South City-based individuals.
