The 77-foot-tall structure will yield 59,920 square feet, including 40,400 square feet for housing and 4,800 square feet of common amenity space. Parking will be included for seven cars and 11 bicycles. The project will add 68 units of affordable senior housing, including 64 one-bedrooms and four two-bedrooms.

Pyatok Architects is responsible for the design. The team follows local design standards, incorporating stucco, matching window context, and a flat parapet. The ground floor will be wrapped with glazed brick siding and exposed concrete board-formed finish.

The existing 0.33-acre parcel is currently occupied by surface parking and open land. The irregularly shaped small plot is located along 33rd Avenue and East 12th Street, across from the Oakland Public Library César Chávez Branch within the Fruitvale Station mixed-use development. Earlier this summer, BRIDGE Housing and Unity Council finished constructing the 181-unit Casa Sueños at 3511 East 12th Street.

  1. Hmm.. not a single tree and a bunch of blank walls. Lots to be desired compared to the nearby “TOD village” but the location and density works well for this site.
