Preliminary permits have been filed to add housing at 4103 Old Trace Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project would create seven single-family homes with accessory dwelling units on an empty lot. Steel Bridge Capital is responsible for the application.
The proposal includes six single-family homes with junior accessory dwelling units, and a seventh home with an ADU and junior ADU. Of the 15 units, three will be deed-restricted as affordable housing, two for low-income households, and one for a moderate-income household.

Ponderosa Architecture is responsible for the design. Illustrations show each home will be a wood-frame two-story structure dressed with a modern or contemporary farmhouse facade. Exterior materials will include concrete, stucco, stone, and wood-like siding.
The application invokes Senate Bill 330 to streamline the approval process. The project will contribute to the region’s vehicular dependence, adding fifteen units in a residential enclave with no shops and offices within walking distance.

The one-acre property is located at the corner of Old Trace Road and Arastradero Road, near the city border with Los Altos Hills. The site is close to the Alta Mesa Memorial Park and the over one million square foot office campus, partially occupied by VMWare and Broadcom.
